Cecile is an experienced farmer who cares for her four surviving children. Her husband and several children were tortured and murdered during a war in the DR Congo. She fled to Uganda with her remaining children.
In her application Cecile said, "We have continued to suffer in the camp (Kyangwali) but those you have helped by giving microcredit loans are changing and have a good life. I will also be happy when I benefit from this good plan. I humbly apply for a loan."
Cecile wants to farm more crops, mostly beans and maize. Her plan is to farm a larger plot which is 80 meters squared. Because her plot has not been farmed before it requires more labor, therefore she would hire men to help slash and dig the larger plot. She would also purchase a goat.
"I am sure that if I get the loan I can pay it back because I have done much farming. I know how farming can generate income once I am able to buy the seeds, and hire some men to slash and dig for me. After that I can plant, weed and harvest on my own."
"I am proud of the project and everything you are planning for us. May God protect and bless you all abundantly."
"Thank you very much."
