Sarafina struggles to care for six children. She says "sometimes I cry when I see my children as they were left by their father some years back." Sarafina has been weakened by several serious bouts of malaria and can no longer perform work that requires strength.

While living in the DR Congo, Sarafina did tailoring and would like a loan to purchase a sewing machine. Sarafina explains that the sewing machine would help her earn money to feed and care for her children, and in the future pay for their school.
