Mbitsemunda, Maderena
- Born: 1945
- Country: Refugee from DR Congo
- Lives at Kyangwali Refugee Settlment, Uganda
(Note: Maderena sent a well written and thought out application for a loan.)
Maderena's husband died in 1984. They have six children, four boys and two girls. When Maderena and the children reached the Kyangwali refugee camp the children were forced to drop out of school to raise their food. Maderena said "Kyangwali is a place of many problems and diseases and at my age I am not able to offer the children school necessities and heath care. I have gotten many diseases which has made me weaker."
Over the years Maderena has been able to buy one goat and 2 chickens and says these animals have helped her family's struggle for survival.
She requests a loan to buy two goats, two more chickens, seeds and supplies for buying and selling beans.
Maderena writes "if my request is accepted for consideration I know that I will be able to pay back the loan and send my children to school in future. I know that after a year one goat can be sold to pay back the loan and I will remain with one goat and the chickens.
