Antoinette is the on-site administrator and leader of the microcredit project. She is doing an excellent job. Among other things she holds the Solidarity Group meetings, administers the loans, checks on the status of each woman, and communicates to the project administrators in the U.S.
Antoinette works to support herself and her mother. She would like a loan for seeds and supplies to grow vegetables for resale. She describes herself as "a bright girl who placed 2nd in her primary 7 class." She has poor attendance at school because she must work. She hopes to earn enough money so she can continue her education. Her future goal is to "fight for the rights of women."

UpdatesAntoinette is still selling salt, today she sent me a sac. She has planted a garden. She also bought a tin of cabbage seeds she will plant. (Benson Wereje, 08-08)
